About The Position

As a Transportation Field Technician for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) with our Bridgeport, West Virginia office, you’ll be a part of a highly trained and growing Construction Inspection and Engineering group that performs project management, quality control, quality assurance, project documentation, and other related services. Projects may range from bridge rehabilitation, bridge construction, roadway construction, grade/drain/pave, highway lighting, and highway signing. CEC Bridgeport is part of our West Virginia operations, which includes offices in Martinsburg and Charleston. Our Bridgeport office is conveniently located off of interstate 79 and is within walking distance of multiple restaurants. Requirements

  • WV TRET Certification Level 3 or higher required
  • Minimum 1 year of Field experience working in the construction industry with emphasis on roadway construction or heavy civil engineering projects
  • Highschool Diploma required
  • Experience interpreting project plans and specifications
  • Experience writing accurate field reports
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in the U.S. without sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Perform construction observation and documentation
  • Perform field testing of soils, concrete and asphalt to determine project compliance
  • Interact with construction site personnel, engineers, and state and federal representatives while presenting yourself in a professional manner
  • Driving and maintaining the appearance and operation of company vehicles to and from job sites
  • Daily report writing, project plan/specification interpretation, and entering data into required web based applications
  • Communication with owners project supervisors and contractor personnel while on-site
  • Perform field tests using specialized equipment designed to collect data from various construction material, i.e,; nuclear density gauge, penetrometer, and hand tools. You will be required to keep equipment clean and in good working order
