The Greenlining Institute works towards a future where communities of color can build wealth, live in healthy places filled with economic opportunity, and are ready to meet the challenges posed by climate change. The Greenlining Institute’s Leadership Academy Fellowship is an 11-month training and experiential learning program for early career leaders seeking to gain hands-on public policy experience and invest in their personal and professional growth. Fellows are integrated into one of Greenlining's policy teams to develop, plan, and implement the organization's policy and advocacy efforts while they simultaneously work with the Leadership Academy to focus on the skills to support their personal growth and deepen their leadership perspective. We're looking for individuals who have a strong commitment to racial equity and social justice for communities of color and can demonstrate a sincere interest in building themselves into true race equity leaders. Our offices are based in Oakland, CA and participants will be expected to attend in person throughout the program. The Transportation Equity Fellow works with our team to re-envision a just transportation future that advances equitable policies that meet the unmet transportation and mobility needs of low-income communities of color and address the injustices created by past infrastructure projects. We work to build this future through robust, effective, enduring statewide and national transportation electrification and mobility equity policies, investments and programs that eliminate the structural inequities of the U.S. transportation system. The Transportation Equity Fellow will assist in advocacy efforts to shape and implement equitable, sustainable, and community-driven transportation and mobility decisions, plans, and projects at the state and federal-level leveraging Greenlining’s frameworks and principles. The fellow will provide thought leadership on key topics related to transportation equity that provide direct and meaningful benefits to low-income communities of color and increase community wealth through high-quality transportation electrification policies that reduce air pollution and enhance economic opportunities. The fellow will engage in research and analysis, legislative tracking and regulatory efforts, as well as building relationships with key stakeholders and policymakers.
