Dewberry is currently seeking a Transportation Engineering Intern for Summer 2026 to join our Transportation Group in our Fairfax, VA, Richmond, VA, Roanoke, VA and Virginia Beach, VA offices. Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Emphasis in Transportation) is required.
  • Previous Transportation focused internship experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience using CADD (MicroStation or AutoCAD).
  • Proficiency in MS Office software.
  • Desire to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team in all facets of transportation engineering including design of horizontal and vertical alignments.
  • Design drainage systems and stormwater management.
  • Implement erosion and sediment control measures.
  • Develop maintenance and protection of traffic schemes.
  • Prepare contract plans for a variety of project types and clients.
