We are seeking a motivated Transportation Design Intern to join our team for Summer 2026 , with the opportunity to continue on a part-time basis through graduation. The ideal candidate will assist with roadway and transportation design tasks, including plan development, design calculations, and technical analyses in support of development projects and transportation studies. This role provides hands-on experience in transportation design and meaningful exposure to real-world engineering practices and project delivery, helping to build a strong foundation for a successful engineering career.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Interest in transportation field.
  • Familiarity with or coursework involving AutoCAD desired.
  • Interest in roadway design, traffic analysis, or drainage design
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • EIT intent or future pursuit encouraged
  • Sponsorship not available now or in the future.
  • Prefer local candidates in Southwest Florida region.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with roadway and transportation design tasks using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
  • Support geometric design efforts, including horizontal and vertical alignments
  • Assist with drainage analysis and stormwater design calculations
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with cost estimates
  • Help develop work zone traffic control plans
  • Assist with plan, preparation, reviews, and quality control checks
  • Support coordination with internal team members and external clients
  • Assist with preparation of technical exhibits and documentation
  • Participate in marketing and business development efforts as needed
  • Gain exposure to project budgeting, schedules, and professional project workflows
