We are hiring an Engineering Intern for Summer 2026 to support our transportation group in the Providence, RI office.
Our transportation team delivers transformational projects with state and municipal clients who focus on safety, complete streets, asset management and economic improvements. Our approach includes the full life-cycle of project development from planning to analysis, design, and construction administration. Interns will assist our engineering professionals and clients on a variety of projects, depending on current workload.
Interns will typically support a project team with design, permitting, and construction administration activities. The work will consist of both field and office-based support. The type of work and the extent of responsibility depends on the aptitude of the student, but is also substantially affected by the time of year and current project schedule. Field work may include field investigations, developing engineering estimates, design work, GPS, and/or construction observations.

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program in Civil or Transportation Engineering.
• Must be local to Providence, Rhode Island or able to work there for the entire summer.
• A valid driver's license and clean driving record is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) is required.
• Must possess solid technical and problem-solving skills.
• Sponsorship is not available for this position now or in the future.
• Must be available to work 40 hours per week for the summer.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in AutoCAD and GIS mapping software (Esri products) preferred.
