AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Transportation Engineering Intern to join our Edison, NJ office. AtkinsRéalis is a world-class engineering services and nuclear organization. Our Internship Program, Explore, is designed for college students pursuing a degree in a STEM field and provides opportunities to learn what it’s like to work in a professional environment and apply what’s learned in class to the real-world challenges we face every day.

  • Assist in compiling data and preparing professional engineering reports that support innovative transportation solutions.
  • Use industry-standard software like MicroStation and AutoCAD to create schematics, drawings, and design plans for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), traffic signals, and safety enhancements.
  • Participate in team meetings and project discussions, gaining exposure to both technical and organizational aspects of engineering work.
  • Engage in on-site field work throughout the state, observing and contributing to the implementation of transportation systems in real environment.
  • Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil or electrical engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2026).
  • No experience is required if accepted into a Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred)
