About The Position

The position is in the Pavement Management unit and reports to the Pavement Preservation Engineer. This position is the point person to prepare the construction smoothness and incentive/disincentive report. Verifies the pavement construction project information including start and end mileposts and offsets, lane number, and exceptions (manholes, bridges, leading and transition zones) to process profile files to calculate International roughness index (IRI) to quantify the incentive or disincentive amounts for the contractors. The employee verifies and reviews treatment/construction types, plans, special provisions, formulas, equations, and target values to calculate incentive/disincentive. Works with RE/district to resolve issues with the contractors. Reviews plan submitted by the contractor. Checks, reviews, and verifies large amounts of data and QC testing results to determine data acceptance. This position will directly work/use/operate the Pavement Management System (PMS) application. Analyze current and future pavement preservation and rehabilitation needs and assist with developing priority programs. This position provides expert technical consultation on complex. This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.
