  • Manage and/or perform traffic and transportation engineering activities such as traffic impact studies, parking studies, and safety studies.
  • Manage and/or perform traffic signal design, traffic signal optimization/retiming and progression analyses.
  • Technical analysis and report writing.
  • Preparing design concept drawings and ideas for discussion and conceptual development.
  • Assistance in the preparation of CAD drawings / construction documents.
  • Preparing detailed drawings that require a degree of technical design applying knowledge of relevant design principles.
  • Perform roadway design work, including developing traffic control plans, roadway plans and profiles, and signing and striping.
  • Preparing calculations for quantities and costing of projects.
  • Receiving training in different phases of office and field work including design, drawings, construction review, site surveys, studies, and assist in the preparation of fee proposals, memoranda, letters and reports.
  • Coordinating with other teams including architectural, survey, traffic, and structural.
  • Communicating with partner firms and clients on details (mostly internal).
  • Recommending improvements and innovations.
  • Ensuring timely production of work.
  • Carrying out quality checks and procedures.
  • Responsible for some business development and marketing activities, proposal writing, and maintaining client relations.
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related degree.
  • Minimum 5 years transportation engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineering License desired.
  • Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification desired.
  • Experience completing Traffic Impact Studies is required.
  • Familiarity with HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic and SIDRA/RODEL traffic capacity analysis software.
  • Familiarity with MicroStation and AutoCAD Civil3d and possess ability to become proficient in each, preferred.
  • Proficiency with grading and working with 3D surfaces, and storm drain design is desired.
  • Strong teammate, with the ability to work independently when required, cooperative in open sharing of information and knowledge with team.
  • Good time management ability, ability to handle conflicting priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to complete diverse assignments.
  • Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to meet challenging deadlines.
