We are actively looking for a Senior Transportation Engineer based in our Raleigh office. As part of the Transportation practice, the Senior Transportation Engineer assists in leading multidisciplinary teams in the identification, pursuit, and successful delivery of major infrastructure projects, including highway, roadway, bridge, transit and rail design across the state, US and internationally. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Transportation Engineering; required
  • Professional Engineer license (PE) in NC or the ability to gain through reciprocity within 6 months; required
  • 15+ years of experience leading various transportation project delivery teams; required
  • Has a well developed project/program management reputation with NCDOT and local transportation, and municipal clients; required
  • Excellent oral, presentation, and written communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to interface with clients as firm representative
  • Availability and willingness to travel
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Responsibilities

  • Maintains key client relationships through deep client knowledge, client relationships, and industry leadership
  • Coordinates and collaborates with clients, regulatory/review entities, engineering disciplines, sub-consultants, for successful project pursuits and project delivery
  • Assists in managing a multi-disciplinary team of planners, designers, business analysts, and other disciplines to successfully deliver project plans, specifications, reports, and other deliverables and outcomes to clients and partners
  • Manages the monitoring, tracking and reporting of projects, including schedule(s) and progress
  • Some Direct oversight of project team, some of which are multidisciplinary teams drawn from throughout the company as well as planning and design partners
  • Acts as a production lead to help lead design and mentor younger engineers
