About The Position

DLZ Corporation is seeking a talented and experienced Transportation Engineer - Project Manager to join our team in Columbus, Cincinnati, or Cleveland, Ohio. This pivotal role involves leading and contributing to diverse transportation engineering projects from concept to completion. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 5 - 15 years of experience in Roadway / Transportation design.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) Registration required. Must be registered in Ohio or able to obtain registration within 3 months of the start date.
  • Proficient with MicroStation and InRoads and/or AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Proven experience with ODOT projects and LPA Federal Aid projects.
  • Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites and complying with all applicable safety codes and requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Project Lifecycle: Manage and/or design multi-disciplinary transportation engineering projects from planning and procurement through detailed design and close-out.
  • Provide Technical Oversight: Perform and direct others in complex transportation civil engineering design.
  • Support Business Development: Assist with marketing, including client discovery, technical proposals, and interviews.
  • Manage Contracts & Clients: Serve as the primary client contact, ensuring contractual commitments are met and resolving project issues.
  • Control Project Performance: Plan project scope, procedures, and budgets, while monitoring fees, schedules, and quality control.
  • Ensure Compliance: Review and address health and safety concerns on projects and work with accounting for accurate billing.
  • Engage Professionally: Actively participate in civic and professional activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
