Toole Design Group in Columbus is looking to hire an experienced and talented full-time Transportation Engineer – Project Manager. Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in civil engineering.
  • Professional Engineering license required.
  • 5+ years of experience.
  • Experience and interest in managing projects or major project tasks.
  • A broad knowledge base in civil engineering with a transportation focus and specific knowledge of horizontal and vertical roadway geometric design (MUTCD and AASHTO).
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following: MicroStation (including OpenRoads), AutoCAD (including Civil 3D).
  • Design experience for intersection and corridor wide improvements, including crossings, retrofits, ADA, and drainage.
  • Experience coordinating utility, right-of-way, street lighting, traffic signals, and landscape and hardscape layout.
  • Experience developing construction documents and cost estimates.
  • Interest in multimodal and active transportation design.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to construction management.
  • Familiarity working with local public transportation agencies and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Help plan and design multimodal transportation projects ranging from urban streetscapes to signature trails.
  • Produce high-quality construction documents using tools like AutoCAD or MicroStation.
  • Support projects through all phases, from concept development and public engagement to permitting and construction management.
  • Serve as Project Manager, leading a team of designers, planners, and engineers to develop successful project solutions.
  • Work closely with clients, communities, and a supportive team across the Midwest and North America.
