McCormick Taylor has an immediate opening for a Transportation Engineer III to join our Transportation Department. Projects may include roadway improvements, intersection design, ADA design, bicycle facility design, site improvements, transit facilities, as well as field visits and inspections. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative team environment. We are seeking an individual who can handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and work well in hybrid remote office environment. Strong written, interpersonal and oral communication skills, attention to detail and ability to organize is required.

Requirements

  • 5 to 15+years of experience in the design of highway/roadway, civil engineering and transportation
  • BS in Civil Engineering, MS is a plus
  • PE Certification strongly suggested
  • Working knowledge of MicroStation, AutoCAD, InRoads, and OpenRoads are a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite

Responsibilities

  • Support design efforts and work under direction of project managers
  • Ability to develop design solutions on a variety of roadway and transportation design projects, geometric design, including conceptual, preliminary, right of way, and final construction documents
  • Some experience in (or aspirations to obtain) project management
  • Perform horizontal and vertical alignment designs
  • Knowledge of roadway design elements, standards and constructability methods
  • Ability to work independently on engineering assignments
  • Able to direct entry-level staff and technicians
  • Assist with design and plans development
  • Assist with scheduling and estimating while generate work for others
  • Experience in final design projects for large and small-scale public transportation improvement projects
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, including Federal, State, and local agencies
  • Develop project management and budgeting skills
