About The Position

Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for an entry-level Transportation Engineer in our Milwaukee or Waterford, WI office. This position will primarily consist of design and construction engineering efforts on a variety of transportation projects for State, County, and Local Agencies. This team-orientated position will include working with Baxter & Woodman's diverse disciplines and offices.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Relevant internship/co-op experience with municipal or highway agency transportation projects.
  • Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman's service area (own transportation).
  • Ability to independently handle a variety of ongoing tasks and responsibilities.
  • Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
  • Work within a team-first culture that encourages individual development and accomplishment of goals.

Nice To Haves

  • Anticipated F.E. (Fundamentals of Engineering) certification.
  • Knowledge of designing roadway and underground improvements with Civil3D or Bentley OpenRoads Designer.
  • Experience with Geopak.

Responsibilities

  • Design Roadway, Underground Utility, and Infrastructure improvements using Civil 3D or Bentley OpenRoads Designer.
  • Conduct drainage, traffic, and various engineering studies.
  • Complete general civil engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
  • Complete engineering plans and specifications using WisDOT Standards.
  • Process Federal Aid projects for a variety of clients.
  • Assist with construction engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
  • Assist project engineers and managers with a wide variety of tasks required for project delivery.
