About The Position

We are seeking a Transportation Engineer I to join our growing Transportation team in Augusta, GA. The ideal candidate possesses experience as a Transportation Intern. The successful candidate would be mentored by our dynamic team of civil engineering professionals while supporting a range of transportation design and planning projects.

Requirements

• BS in Civil Engineering
• 0-2 years of experience
• Proficient with relevant software such as Microstation, OpenRoads, Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of the practical application of engineering principles, practices and techniques, including AASHTO guidelines, GDOT Publications such as Design Policy Manual, GDOT EDG, and GDOT PPG
• Ability to demonstrate strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work well within a team environment, positive attitude, multi-task, and self-motivated to produce high quality work.
• Ability and desire to learn and grow professionally

Nice To Haves

• Experience and Knowledge using GDOT Publications
• EIT certification preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate, legible and well thought out design calculations.
• Reviews own work before submitting.
• Works with minimal supervision; is self-motivated and has initiative.
• May be required to work after typical hours as project requirements and company needs dictate.
• Updates and maintains body of knowledge related to training, degree or job responsibilities.
• Completes assigned work on time and within budget.
• Utilize knowledge of GDOT, municipal design standards and criteria, and practices and policies.
