We are seeking a Transportation Engineer I to join our growing Transportation team in Augusta, GA. The ideal candidate possesses experience as a Transportation Intern. The successful candidate would be mentored by our dynamic team of civil engineering professionals while supporting a range of transportation design and planning projects. The successful candidate would be an integral part of our growing team and would have the opportunity to engage across markets and geographies.

Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • 0-2 years of experience
  • Proficient with relevant software such as Microstation, OpenRoads, Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering principles, practices and techniques, including AASHTO guidelines, GDOT Publications such as Design Policy Manual, GDOT EDG, and GDOT PPG
  • Ability to demonstrate strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment, positive attitude, multi-task, and self-motivated to produce high quality work.
  • Ability and desire to learn and grow professionally

Nice To Haves

  • Experience and Knowledge using GDOT Publications
  • EIT certification preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Performs accurate, legible and well thought out design calculations.
  • Reviews own work before submitting.
  • Works with minimal supervision; is self-motivated and has initiative.
  • May be required to work after typical hours as project requirements and company needs dictate.
  • Updates and maintains body of knowledge related to training, degree or job responsibilities.
  • Completes assigned work on time and within budget.
  • Utilize knowledge of GDOT, municipal design standards and criteria, and practices and policies.
