About The Position
Incumbent will be under the direct supervision of a Senior Transportation Engineer, and will perform a wide variety of professional engineering work in an office and field environment. The incumbent performs various transportation engineering tasks of average difficulty accomplished through understanding and applying Caltrans standards, manuals, guidelines, directives, and computer software applications. Travel may be required. The incumbent is required to have a current driver's license when operating a State-owned or leased vehicle. Incumbent inspects progress of the work to assure compliance with contract plans and specifications on all phases of highway construction. Incumbent assures appropriate measurement and payment is made and that project documentation is completed in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
