As a member of this team you will contribute to CDM Smith's success by being responsible for coordination and management of the technical content of transportation projects including driving the technical vision of the end product, ensuring the technical accuracy of the work product, ensuring the right technical skill sets are on the project at the correct time, developing and mentoring technical project staff, managing project financials, and coordinating all aspects of the project with our clients. You will review draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations and sign off on completed designs. Additionally, you will ensure that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs, sign and seal engineering designs as necessary, perform site reviews and studies as needed, and update design requirements as necessary. You will also inspect new construction and existing transportation structures as necessary, collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs), and review draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local, and federal regulations and best practices. Meeting with current and potential future clients to review their current and future design needs, attending conferences and symposia to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services, and performing other duties as required are also part of your responsibilities. You will provide technical guidance and training to more junior staff, mentor them for future growth within the discipline and firm, and may supervise the work of junior engineers on project work.
