What You Will Do: • Use strategies, technologies, mobility services, and programs to optimize the safety, mobility, and reliability of the existing and planned transportation system. • Prepare and review safety studies for high-crash locations and system-wide improvements • Review Traffic Impact Studies for private site developments • Assist in coordination of access management along state routes • Conduct and review studies for speed zones and signal warrants What we are looking for: • Ability to communicate with public, locals and developers • Familiar with traffic tools (such as HCS, AASHTOWare, ECAT) • Familiar with ODOT and Local requirements Licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 2 yrs. exp. as group or project leader or supervisor providing work direction & training to employees engaged in engineering projects or 2 yrs. exp. in managing engineering research projects (i.e., managing research projects applies only to staff specialist positions); if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver’s license. -Or licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Engineer 3, 85643; if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver’s license. -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated registration.
