About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer II for the Surface Transportation Department in Murray, UT. Projects may include the design of urban and rural roadways, interstate highways, interchanges, design-build and more. Work may include projects such as the Progressive Design-Build I-84/US-89 project, other Design-Build projects or pursuits, and other UDOT projects.

Requirements

• BA/BS + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
• 4+ years of previous roadway design experience on transportation projects including Schematic Development and/or Preparation of Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E)
• Currently holding an FE or PE License or the ability to obtain a PE License within the first year if employment
• Experience designing highway/roadway systems
• Experience on multidisciplinary project with subconsultants
• Experience with design software including Bentley Open Roads / ORD
• Current work and experience with Schematic Development, Roadway Design
• Good communication skills and ability to work as a team

Responsibilities

• Geometric design of roadways creating horizontal and vertical alignments and models
• Preparation of design reports including design study reports, and technical memorandums
• Coordination with project stakeholders including clients, the public, utility companies, and permitting agencies
• Plan preparation for roadway plans in accordance with UDOT or Local standards
• Calculate quantities and estimates for UDOT and local transportation projects
• Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise
• Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
• Prepares technical specification sections
• Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements
