About The Position

Will assist the bridge inspection and inventory section with statewide management, including: Learning and becoming a certified bridge inspector New bridge inventory requirements (Specifications for the National Bridge Inventory) implementation statewide In-person bridge inspection and inventory training Quality assurance of statewide bridge inspection data Snooper bridge inspections Plenty of opportunities for field work at bridge sites!

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Accepted for Basic Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (EIT exam) by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors
  • Civil Engineering skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist the bridge inspection and inventory section with statewide management
  • Learn and become a certified bridge inspector
  • Implement new bridge inventory requirements (Specifications for the National Bridge Inventory) statewide
  • Provide in-person bridge inspection and inventory training
  • Ensure quality assurance of statewide bridge inspection data
  • Perform snooper bridge inspections
  • Field work at bridge sites
