Requirements

Holds a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with passenger endorsement
Has an excellent driving record
Has excellent driving skills in handling vehicles on wet and/or slippery roads
Maintains a courteous, friendly, and helpful attitude with the residents at all times
Able to interpret and follow map directions
Holds a high school diploma/GED
Able to understand and follow instructions in English
Has effective communication skills, both oral and written
Able to perform simple arithmetic
Able to organize and prioritize work
The Transportation Driver must be able to sit in a vehicle for up to six (6) hours per day
You are able to lift up to 50 pounds for handling luggage and resident groceries
Having good visual and hearing acuity is required
Able to withstand exposure to the elements (rain, snow, cold, heat) for short periods of time

Responsibilities

Picks up and delivers residents to all scheduled activities where bus transportation is needed.
Be able to assist residents coming in and out of buildings.
Maintains a courteous, friendly, and helpful attitude with the residents at all times
Completes a safety check of the vehicle before transporting residents to and from scheduled trips or activities.
Accurately records vehicle mileage and resident attendance for all scheduled transportation.
Maintains the cleanliness of the vehicle, inside and out.
Transports vehicle to service locations for routine preventive maintenance on vehicles as scheduled by supervisor.
Notifies supervisor of necessary vehicle repairs and vehicle malfunctions.
Notifies supervisor of resident concerns, problems, or incidents immediately.
Makes miscellaneous runs for administration errands as necessary.
Maintains all tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition.
Perform routine preventative maintenance on vehicles according to schedule.
Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.
Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Drives vehicle on appointed, scheduled, and/or requested routes, pickups, and deliveries of people and packages.
Maintains safe speeds at all times.
