About The Position

SEH is currently searching for a Transportation Drainage Designer to join our talented Water Resources team! This position involves designing systems that manage stormwater runoff to prevent flooding and improve water quality. The designer will manage water resources projects, coordinating with project teams, and contributing to the development and delivery of comprehensive water resources projects. The role includes working with our talented water resources staff to successfully deliver a wide variety of projects such as ecosystem restoration, flood risk management, and dam safety. Building and maintaining strong client relationships while mentoring and growing staff is also a key aspect of this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Water Resources, or related field.
  • Knowledge of local and state stormwater design manuals.
  • Extensive experience in civil highway/roadway drainage design, engineering, and construction.
  • Drainage system design experience.
  • Previous experience with storm drain system analysis using CAD software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
  • Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the United States with the ability to obtain licensure in multiple states.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, on-site inspections/visits, etc.; occasional overnight travel will be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in civil highway/roadway drainage design, engineering, and construction.
  • Experience working with a team of drainage engineers, civil engineers, and highway designers to deliver large transportation projects.
  • Experience supervising and mentoring other engineers and team members.
