Valto is searching for a Transportation District Sales Manager to be remotely based out of Indianapolis, Goshen, Elkhart, Indiana or surrounding areas. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, this role focuses on driving product sales through effective customer, dealer, and fleet presentations, sales calls and promotional activities. This role will service and support current business at trailer and truck body OEM’s, dealers and fleets within the assigned district. The ideal candidate will have 5 years professional selling experience.  Experience within the transportation market is highly preferred. The Transportation Sales Manager develops and executes sales plans by district, by customer, by product and by geographical area.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Ability to effectively communicate and interact with co-workers, customers, supervisors, and technical organizations in a positive and objective manner.
  • 5+ years professional selling experience.  Experience with transportation market preferred.
  • 25-30% overnight travel.
  • Ability to plan, schedule and organize work priorities and objectives with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Salesforce or similar CRM software.  Experience with a structured sales process.
  • Experience with specification or other pull through sales efforts

Responsibilities

  • Identify key personnel within target organizations with high degree of influence.
  • Identify potential share gains by customer, product and geographical area.
  • Drive new product introductions through customer, dealer, and fleet presentations, sales calls and promotional activities.
  • Execute new specifications for Crane products by demonstrating value of these products to the customer.
  • Service and support current business at trailer and truck body OEM’s, dealers and fleets within district.   Ensure that customer’s needs are met, and that complaints and other issues are resolved in a fair and timely manner.
  • Maintain a strong and positive customer/supplier relationship through timely and consistent communication with the customer.
  • Attend industry trade shows outside of your district.
  • Understand the current markets trends and driving factors impacting the business.
  • Submit weekly highlights through CRM and provide other reports in a clearly worded and timely manner.  Provide pertinent end market information to the Sales Manager or other appropriate personnel through proper use of CRM.
  • Regularly update and maintain customer correspondence in CRM including weekly highlights, opportunity sales funnel, call planners and upcoming tasks with customers.
