Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 2 years of experience required.
  • 1 year of experience required with an advanced degree.
  • EIT/EI required.
  • Valid driver's license required to support legitimate business purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform moderately complex engineering calculations, alternatives analysis, design and drafting for a variety of transportation projects including sidewalks, bike paths, local roadways, intersections, highways, freeways, and other transportation facilities.
  • Assist with site visits, CAD drafting, geometric roadway layout and design, 3D modeling, writing project specifications and technical reports, calculating construction quantities, estimating construction costs, and preparing project correspondence.
  • Exercise a strong work ethic, desire to learn new design concepts, and have great organizational and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate a developing proficiency with basic drafting fundamentals in at least one software platform and be able to quickly learn and apply new 2D and 3D design concepts.
  • Work under the guidance of a licensed professional engineer.
  • Produce technical reports and memos, specifications, construction quantity calculations and cost estimates, design documents and construction plans, and exhibits.
  • Understand and employ design codes such as AASHTO and FHWA.
  • Engage in limited direct client interaction, commonly in group settings.
