About The Position

The Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Coordinator is responsible for overseeing efforts to encourage safe, active transportation, and reduce single occupancy vehicle trips at Boston Medical Center (BMC) and Boston University Medical Campus (BUMC). This position includes marketing/promotion, outreach events, providing public-facing customer service for walk-in traffic, metrics tracking, and operations management, including coordinating maintenance of bicycle parking facilities. Requirements

  • High School education
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and WordPress
  • Must be comfortable using or learning to use an angle grinder
  • Strong written and oral communication
  • Passion for marketing and assisting others
  • Self-starter

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to Boston Medical Center and Boston University Medical Campus staff/students through the Parking and Transportation Services Office located at 710 Albany Street.
  • Distribute Boston University Medical Campus MBTA passes.
  • Provide access to secure bike parking.
  • Manage the Boston University Shuttle (BUS) lost and found.
  • Answer commuting questions via phone and email.
  • Maintain online resources.
  • Provide transportation resources including bicycle helmets.
  • Manage bicycle parking facilities including bike cage access provision, facility maintenance, and removal of unauthorized/abandoned bicycles.
  • Coordinate with BU Asst. Dir. of TDM & Planning and BMC Asst. Manager of Parking & Administration to plan, promote (via print, email, and web) and deliver standalone TDM-focused events (bike maintenance clinics, carpool meetups, etc.).
  • Represent Parking & Transportation Services at larger events including wellness fairs, benefits fairs, Earth Day, and the Sustainability Festival.
  • Assist BU and BMC with data gathering for annual DEP Rideshare Reports.
  • Act as the primary liaison with A Better City to coordinate Transportation Management Association (TMA) services for Boston Medical Center and Boston University Medical Campus.
  • Assist daily with Parking Office tasks as outlined by General Manager.
