About The Position

We are seeking a people-centered and detailed-oriented Transportation Coordinator to join our team. This position plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation services by coordinating routes, assisting with vehicle maintenance, supporting compliance documentation and occasionally step in to drive as needed. The ideal candidate for this position should have excellent communication and coordination skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively.

Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age; must possess a valid driver's license, adequate automobile insurance, and meet agency insurability requirements.
  • I/DD Knowledge: familiarity with regulations, as well as a working knowledge of Medicaid procedures for the I/DD population. Experience with computes and knowledge of the fundamentals of database and word processing functions. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic database functions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, including active listening, clear speaking, coordination with others, and sound judgment and decision-making. Flexibility and dependability is a must.
  • Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods; lift and carry 40 pounds or more; wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hairnets, gloves, face masks, and gowns.

  • Familiarity with 5310 grants, Notices of Authorizations (NOAs) and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Managing vehicle schedule to ensure proper allocation of resources so that all transportation needs are covered.
  • Creating, adjusting and distributing route sheets for drivers
  • Reviewing and entering transportation data and billing
  • Coordinating vehicle and equipment repairs, supply needs and documentation
  • Maintaining communication with drivers through logs and meetings
  • Driving routes when needed (special requests, substitute coverage, or unscheduled trips)
  • Schedule, deliver, and, if needed, assemble DME independently. Organize and keep inventory of existing DME in current storage locations. This includes: Cleaning and disinfecting of DME, maintenance and testing equipment before restocking inventory, responsible for ensuring deliveries of DME are made with company vehicle and that customers are educated on the safe use and maintenance of the delivered items. May assemble equipment as needed, safeguards customers Protected Health Information and adhere to all HIPPA privacy regulations
