We are now hiring for an Transportation Coordinator at our facility in Hartford, Connecticut. The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for executing daily route plans, coordinating driver departures, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of transportation systems and records. This role serves as the primary point of contact for drivers and supports operational efficiency and compliance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in transportation, dispatch, or logistics operations.
  • Working knowledge of transportation and logistics operations, including route planning and dispatch processes.
  • Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), dispatch software, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills for managing multiple routes and priorities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with drivers, operations teams, and stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities in time-sensitive situations.
  • Ability to accurately enter, update, and maintain data in operational systems.
  • Capacity to remain calm and professional in high-pressure or fast-paced environments.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily transportation route schedules, ensuring on-time driver departures and service commitments.
  • Coordinate and communicate departure times, route assignments, and load details with drivers.
  • Prepare, organize, and distribute required driver paperwork (manifests, bills of lading, delivery documents).
  • Monitor route progress and performance, proactively identifying delays or service risks.
  • Make real-time route adjustments in collaboration with the Transportation Manager.
  • Support compliance with company policies, safety standards, and DOT regulations.
  • Ensure daily vehicle inspections (DVIRs) are completed, filed, and acted upon if required.
  • Perform other transportation and logistics duties as assigned.
