About The Position

providing reliable, cost-effective transportation solutions for the delivery of inbound product from suppliers to Publix warehouses and manufacturing plants and for the delivery of outbound product to retail stores, warehouses, and manufacturing plants generated through the Transportation Management System (TMS), utilizing both for-hire carriers and Publix private fleet determining the appropriate carrier to offer pending shipments to considering cost, availability, service levels, monitoring carrier performance issues such as accidents, safety concerns and late deliveries. managing all the logistical elements of our Publix managed inbound orders, as well as any expedited and urgent requests from procurement, manufacturing planners, carriers, manufacturing plants and warehousing performing the verification and approval process for payment of accessorial charges for loading delays that are $500 or less and providing high quality customer service to our internal and external customers; responding timely and providing accurate, informative communication to Logistics, Retail, Manufacturing facilities, Distribution facilities, carriers, and suppliers The responsibilities listed on this posting are not intended to be all-inclusive and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

have knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications
have knowledge of Publix internal departments
have knowledge of Publix receiving schedules
have knowledge of software, systems, and applications used in the Corporate Transportation department (TMS, PC Miler, I-Trade, Publix Host, Marwood-PIMS)
have knowledge of the transportation industry
have knowledge of United States geography
have knowledge of distribution divisions

have computer skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

current Lakeland Distribution associate
have an associate’s degree in Business, Transportation or a related field
have three years’ experience working in Transportation
have certification in Transportation and Logistics (CTL) or be a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
