About The Position

The Transportation Coordinator will schedule and dispatch drivers, vehicles, or equipment to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs. The role involves monitoring and tracking transportation activities using GPS and dispatch software. Communication with drivers, customers, and other departments is essential to ensure timely deliveries and resolve any issues that may arise.

Requirements

2-3 years of dispatch experience.
Proficiency in transportation logistics and administrative support.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite, including basic Excel skills.
Familiarity with dispatch and transportation administration.
High School Diploma.

Responsibilities

Schedule and dispatch drivers, vehicles, or equipment based on customer requests and specifications.
Monitor and track transportation activities using GPS and dispatch software.
Communicate with drivers, customers, and other departments to ensure timely deliveries and resolve issues.
Maintain accurate records of dispatch times, routes, mileage, fuel usage, and delivery confirmations.
Prepare and process transportation documentation such as bills of lading, invoices, and compliance reports.
Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety policies.
Assist in route planning and optimization to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Provide administrative support including data entry, filing, and reporting.
Respond to emergency calls and coordinate appropriate responses.
