About The Position

This position will assist in the daily customer service and administrative activities of the Transportation Department to ensure accurate and prompt delivery of service to our customers. This is a fast-paced job and often requires multitasking.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
Experience using Microsoft products such as Word and Excel required

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s or associate degree in a related field preferred
Warehouse loading experience preferred
Experience in the food industry is a plus
Experience in transportation or logistics is a plus

Responsibilities

Check Drivers delivery status using the electronic log system and update the Transportation/Dispatch Supervisors with all concerns
Ensure drivers are leaving on time at scheduled leave times
Communicate with Sales, Purchasing, Customers, and Drivers concerning delivery appointment times and ETA
Make appointments for customer deliveries daily
Use of communication channels, including but not limited to phone calls, emails, text messages, and web portals
Send late truck report to distribution list, contact affected customers, track and update as needed throughout the day
Provides driver support to drivers on dispatch/route/tractor/trailer issues during the morning
Update the power dock with the accurate ETA of inbound freight
Book hotel rooms for drivers as needed
Monitor trailer temperature alarms
Additional duties as assigned by manager or supervisor
