About The Position
Penske Logistics is looking for Transportation Coordinators. The candidate will process customer transport orders; plan & optimize shipments into loads using Transportation Manager System computer programs; tender freight to third-party carriers; update Transportation Manager System with current shipment information; and respond to internal & external customer inquiries. This position includes heavy customer interaction.
Responsibilities
- Use computer to enter records
- Communicate with associates from other shifts
- Complete daily logs
- Identify cost savings opportunities for the customer
- Track shipments to ensure shipment deadlines are met.
- Work with suppliers to correct part/shipment issues
- Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
