About The Position

JMT’s Allentown based Construction Management Team is seeking Transportation Construction Inspection professionals to join our team. We have multiple positions available on projects within PennDOT's District 3-0 region (Union County). The successful candidate will apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for structural quality, general safety, conformance to plans, specifications and codes. Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

Requirements

  • Computer Proficiency
  • Active driver’s license and reliable motor vehicle
  • Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
  • At a minimum, the candidate must meet the PennDOT Transportation Construction Inspector Level II criteria.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (may be substituted for experience)
  • 2 or more years of highway or bridge construction inspection experience

Nice To Haves

  • Client Requested certifications, including: NICET Level II or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction NECEPT-Bituminous and Concrete Field Technician ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician CDS V-3 and/or ECMS Wave 5 Experience
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management
  • Previous PennDOT and/or PA Turnpike Inspection Experience

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations
  • Perform routine tests on concreate, soils and other materials
  • Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes
  • Gather and maintain record documents
  • Make field notes and computations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
