About The Position

A. Morton Thomas & Associates, Inc. (AMT, Inc.) is hiring Construction Inspectors in the Transportation sector to support projects throughout the VDOT Fredericksburg District and surrounding areas of Northern Neck and Saluda Residencies. Applicants preferred to have experience with paving, roadway and bridge construction inspection and records keeping.

Requirements

3+ years of transportation construction experience, ideally within the State of Virginia.
Required certifications preferred but class enrollment for certifications will be made for candidates with applicable construction inspection experience
valid driverâs license
be available for night work, OT and/or weekends as needed
capable of working independently and within a team
subject to background check

Nice To Haves

experience with paving, roadway and bridge construction inspection and records keeping

Responsibilities

Verification of all work performed being in accordance with plans & contractual specs
Measurement & verification of quantities, dimensions & specifications
Act as a liaison between VDOT and prime contractor
