GFT is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI) to join our Construction Services Team in Philadelphia! This role follows a remote work schedule, where work is mostly done on-site. Requirements

• Associate Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or closely related field or at least one (1) year minimum experience as a Technical Assistant 2.
• Two (2) years of transportation construction inspection experience and a High School Diploma will be considered.
• Four (4) years of highway/building trades, construction, inspection, or design experience and a High School Diploma will be considered.
• ACI, NICET, and/or NECEPT certifications.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to read and interpret plans and specifications, measure and calculate quantities, and perform quality control testing on highway materials will be considered.
• Associate Degree in Engineering may be substituted for one (1) year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection to assure that contractors build a quality construction project.
• Perform assigned duties to specific activities to assure plans, specifications, standards and Q.C. Plans are adhered to.
• Comply with the District and project specific overtime requirements.
• Meet with the Department Project Engineer/ Manager/ Supervisor or Consultant Manager/ Supervisor daily, or as required, to receive instructions and assignments.
• Complete PSA’s and work sheets daily.
• Request from Manager/ Supervisor assistance for any instruction or assignment in the inspection of materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with contract requirements and established standards.
• Participates in daily huddles with field staff.
