Serves as a construction technician, under the general supervision of a resident engineer, resident landscape architect, project supervisor or lab supervisor performing a variety of skilled and technical activities on highway construction projects. These activities will include LPA roadway, highway, electrical and landscape construction inspection, area lab materials quality control, field office materials sampling/testing coordination and assist with construction administration. Inspects, tests and documents complex construction items, such as highways, FMS, lighting, landscaping and irrigation, materials testing and construction administration. Primary contact for contractors, consultants and ADOT employees on minor projects or segments of a major project. Resolve issues of conflict with contractors. Documents change orders or force account work. Reviews completed work of other employees and provides field training to other employees when requested. Will normally be assigned to more than one area of construction and can be subject to irregular work hours. Overtime may be required including working nights, weekends and holidays Occasional overnight travel may be necessary. Employment contingent upon passing a physical examination.
