Parsons is seeking motivated Civil Engineering (Transportation) Interns to join our Dallas-area and Houston transportation teams Summer 2026. In this role, you will contribute to large-scale engineering projects and gain practical experience in areas such as highway and roadway design, bridge structures, transportation planning, traffic simulations, signal design, critical infrastructure, drainage, and traffic control during construction. By joining Parsons, you’ll be part of our well-established Summer Internship Program with 170+ interns nationwide.   • Prepare construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Assist with the geometric design of highways and roadways, including horizontal and vertical alignments, cross sections, superelevation diagrams, gore details, vertical clearance calculations, and grading plans.
  • Perform material quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and field surveys as required.
  • Use design software and CAE/CAD applications to develop and implement project designs.
  • Provide technical guidance and input to CAD drafters, designers, and other engineers working on the project team.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support project delivery.
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in civil engineering or related field
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills
  • Eager to learn, self-motivated, and flexible
  • Excellent organizational and management skills
  • Prior transportation or infrastructure engineering internship experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of CAD software, such as AutoCAD and Microstation is a plus
