This is a paid internship with full-time or part-time hours during Summer 2026. This is an office position based in our Chicago, Illinois office.

Requirements

• Interest in bridge and structural engineering within the transportation industry
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent oral, written, and graphic communication skills
• Basic understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of civil design
• Education: Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree engineering program
• Previous experience in Microsoft products such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with Bentley MicroStation/Open Roads Designer is a plus

Responsibilities

• Preparing structural design calculations, plans and contract documents in accordance with applicable design and agency standards
• Development of bridge plans using MicroStation
• Performs basic calculations to analyze and design structural components using industry standard software
• Assist with collecting data and gathering information to support design decisions
