By joining our Equipment Garage Unit as a Transportation Auto/Truck Technician I in Fayette County, you’ll have the opportunity to assist in the repair and maintenance of all medium and heavy equipment in District Seven. Summary of Responsibilities: Repairing equipment such as trucks, tractors, loaders, and other equipment. Performing services on all medium/heavy equipment. Learning to safely and properly use and maintain state owned tools and equipment. Learn from senior techs on complex repairs. Ideal candidate will have experience in: Familiarity with various types of construction equipment. Maintenance of trucks or construction equipment. Performing services on equipment. Requirements

  • High school graduate.
  • Must have two years of automotive/equipment/truck repair technical experience.
  • Vocational or technical school training in automotive/truck repair or a related area will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license to qualify for employment in this job classification.
  • Employees in this job classification must furnish the agency's appointing authority within six months of employment in the job classification, documentation that he or she possesses a valid Class A commercial driver's license.
  • Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.
  • Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possess and maintains required licensure(s), certification (s) or other credentials.
