About The Position

Are you ready to help Amazon deliver world class service in its transportation operations? Transportation Associates will perform trailer moves in the trailer yard, coordinate yard activities (such as checking in trailers, traffic flow, internal communications with operations, etc.), conduct yard audits, complete applicable driver training programs (Hostler, Commercial Driver's License (CDL) School, etc.), and operate multiple vehicle types based on business need (including but not limited to hostlers and day cabs) to support Amazon's transportation network. Requirements

  • High school or equivalent diploma.
  • Driver's license.
  • Are 21 years of age or older.
  • Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required.
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
  • Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
  • Candidates must have the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirement and safety guidelines in English.
  • Must be willing to drive up to 75% of the time and will be required to obtain a Driver Qualification File (DFQ) and/or Commercial Drivers License (CDL) as a condition for the role.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
  • Class A commercial driver's license (CDL).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with diverse audiences.
  • Ability to follow and enforce safety measures and policies.
  • A commitment to build strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and outside vendors.
  • Previous experience as an Amazon TOM Associate.
  • 6+ months of Peer Driver Trainer (PDT) experience.

Responsibilities

  • Make safety a priority by adhering to company rules and regulations.
  • Perform various functions within the yard, support site operations teams, internal transportation field teams, and external carriers.
  • Be professionally trained to operate Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) on non-public roads or in yard.
  • Learn Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and comply with company policies.
  • Complete driver vehicle inspection reports on equipment and notify managers of any maintenance or delivery issues.
  • Follow hostler and delivery schedules, track and report working hours and breaks.
  • Support the business on an as needed basis by serving as a peer trainer.
  • Drive, maneuver, and load/unload a truck using approved equipment.
