The position involves performing pre-audits on contractor invoices and bills to ensure accuracy in rates, service, and authorization. The incumbent will receive, review, and process correspondence, official orders, and applications to move property from residences and non-temporary storage. Responsibilities include determining and advising on entitlements or procedures related to temporary storage of goods, weight allowances, prohibited items, and shipment of personal property, including various methods available. The role also requires preparing vehicle worksheets with special location codes, vehicle descriptions, and any special handling requests, as well as forwarding appropriate advance documents to other transportation offices for the movement of property both overseas and within the continental United States. Additionally, the incumbent will determine the most efficient and economical rates and routes for shipment and/or storage of household goods, unaccompanied baggage, personal effects, and/or mobile homes.
