About The Position

Transportation Assistant reports to the Health Administration Service. You will work in the Beneficiary Travel/Veteran Transportation Services department scheduling Veteran transportation and processing mileage reimbursement claims. Include but not limited to: Performs work involving consult management, transportation scheduling, and and mileage reimbursement processing. Collecting, compiling, and tracking data and statistical information & performs a basic analysis of the data. Interacts with various other transportation services such as Emergency Medical Service (EMS), Volunteer Transportation Network (VTN), Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Veteran of Foreign Wars (VFW), and other transportation services. Coordinates the day-to-day operation of the Beneficiary Travel and Veteran Transportation Service program flow, processes, and functions. Provides advice to operating managers and supervisors on how provided services assist in accomplishing their missions and programs. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM- 4:00 PM Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
