About The Position

Auxilio Services is seeking a dependable and compassionate transportation assistant manager to support daily transportation operations. The Transportation Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the Transportation Manager in the oversight and maintenance of bus routes, driver orientation, driver evaluation and driver training. This role is ideal for an organized professional with strong office and communication skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team environment. This position is full-time, 8-5 PM, Monday through Friday in Madison Heights, Michigan.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred; will consider commensurate work experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of related pupil transportation experience; one (1) year supervisory experience preferred.
  • Valid Driver License required.
  • Valid CDL is preferred.
  • Subject to Background Check and Drug Screen.
  • Subject to DOT Physical and Motor Vehicle Review.
  • Hands-on management style with the ability to motivate and assist in leading the work of others.
  • Computer skills are necessary to maintain various state reporting requirements, computerized routing and management of services.
  • Proficient in Microsoft excel and other window platforms.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to build and manage relationships, focusing on teamwork.
  • Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and track route information, develop route maps and student lists for the new school year as changes occur. Communicate this information to all impacted parties.
  • Assist with routing and scheduling while preparing quotes and schedule field trips.
  • Assign vehicles and drivers as needed.
  • Perform ongoing evaluation of route efficiencies, develop strategies for improvement and report suggested changes to the Transportation Manager.
  • Assist the Transportation Manager with ongoing orientation, training and evaluation of employees and report any concerns to the Transportation Manager.
  • Educate and ensure bus driver awareness of company policies and procedures, including federal, state and local laws. Report areas of concern and non-compliance to the Transportation Manager.
  • Support daily office and transportation operations.
  • Perform accurate data entry and record keeping.
  • Maintain employee files and personal records.
  • Promote safe work practices in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety (OSHA), Company Policy, and supervisor’s directives.
  • Assist Transportation Manager in monitoring and evaluating operations activities such as vehicle on-time statistics, missed runs, customer complaint data, accident data, road call data, and other operations related functions.
  • Answer incoming calls and respond to customer inquiries via email.
  • Prepare reports as requested by the Transportation Manager.
  • May assist with other areas based on location needs.
  • May have to drive a bus route, as required.
