The Transportation Analyst II role at Donaldson is pivotal in ensuring the timely and damage-free delivery of products across North America. The role is hybrid, based in Bloomington, MN, and involves managing both day-to-day and strategic operations related to logistics, including international freight between the US, Canada, and Mexico. In this role, you will analyze and optimize the logistics network to meet company delivery and cost requirements by leveraging Donaldson's Transportation Management System (TMS), specifically Navisphere, along with freight payment data. You will be responsible for managing departmental KPIs related to on-time performance, savings, and claims, ensuring that logistics procurement activities are conducted effectively and that competitive pricing is achieved through benchmark assessments. Negotiating carrier contracts, managing compliance, and monitoring carrier performance are also key responsibilities. You will develop carrier scorecards, manage KPIs, and conduct quarterly business reviews to ensure that core carriers across various modes, including full truckload, flatbed, dedicated fleet, and third-party logistics (3PL), are effectively supporting the strategic logistics plan. Additionally, you will ensure the timely payment of carrier invoices and develop formal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while training and monitoring their effectiveness. Your role will also involve mining data, developing reports, and using critical thinking to validate and adjust current processes as needed. You will be responsible for managing internal and external routing instructions and compliance, forecasting trends, analyzing risks, and developing metrics. As a subject matter expert in logistics, you will support cost-saving initiatives while maintaining service requirements and collaborating with manufacturing, distribution facilities, procurement, engineering, finance, and transfer groups.
