About The Position

SUMMARY: Drives automobiles to transport personnel and/or visitors to the commercial and industrial establishment and pick up and deliver supplies needed for distribution or replenishment. Performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned). Works from written or verbal instructions. Reads production schedule, work order, or requisition to determine items or passengers to be moved, gathered, or distributed. Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas. Transport crewmembers, passengers, and personnel at scheduled time and location within 24 hours including assisting with loading/unloading of baggage and other cargo items Picks up passengers at scheduled meeting time and place. Transports passengers to desired locations. Assists passengers checking in at doctor’s / dentist’s office and hospital. Obtain doctor's reports regarding patients’ conditions and advise the Marine Coordinator, and vessel’s master accordingly. Assist arriving passengers with USCIS / CBP if required, Assist departing passengers check-in at the airline counter and remain with the passenger until same has cleared security screening and entered the departure lounge. Assist arriving visitors/crew with hotel check-in and ensure room availability. Performs miscellaneous errands such as carrying mail to and from post office. Make bank deposits and submit receipts to the Accounting Department. Makes night drives and extended trips requiring irregular hours. Maintains vehicle (inside and out) in a clean state and operating condition. Makes minor repairs or adjustments such as fixing punctures, checking fluid levels, and fueling. Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stored items and distributes items to company workers. Drives vehicles to transport stored items from warehouse to consignee or to pick up items from several locations for shipment or delivery. Receives, and picks up spares, materials, and equipment at scheduled time and place. Process documentation of cargo through proper departments for retrieval. Completes requisition forms to order supplies from other departments. Completes reports required by internal and external customers

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or
  • 6 Months to 1 Year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combinations of education and experience
  • Understand Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations governing the maintenance of the equipment in which assigned.
  • Must possess a valid Guam Driver’s License compliant with the REAL ID ACT chauffeurs and Commercial Driver’s License (endorsements A and B) and Medical Examiner's Certificate to comply with US Department of Transportation (DOT) regulation 49CFR part 391.41-49.
  • Must be able to obtain Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) and/or Defense Biometric DBIDS Credential within sixty (30) days of employment.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, shipping documents, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral with internal and external clients, vendors, and a wide range of people
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks and operate within a deadline-oriented environment
  • Ability to manage a high volume of electronic communication, both in the office and while mobile in the field
  • Understands & follows Guam Motor Vehicle Laws and Title 16 of Guam Code Annotated
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation Rules and Regulations i.e., safe driving, hours of service inspection and maintenance and transportation of hazardous materials
  • Ability to drive for long periods.
  • Understanding and carrying out verbal and written instructions
  • Working independently in the absence of supervision
