Role and Team As a Transportation Driver you will transport vehicles to and from customer or vendor lots. The Transportation team provides high level customer service that drives overall sales and customer satisfaction. You will safely move, stage and park vehicles and drive vehicles through the auction lanes.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license that meets the requirements
  • Must be able to follow directions and work in a team environment
  • Drive a variety of make/model/sizes of vehicles
  • Basic Reading and number comprehension skills to understand lot organization, safety, and directions.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend motor vehicle traffic signs
  • Ability to operate a vehicle with a standard transmission preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, loud environment
  • Ability to climb in and out of vehicles and a passenger van frequently throughout the day
  • Must be able to walk in parking lots and around other vehicles in all weather conditions
  • Effective interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to operate a vehicle with a standard transmission preferred

Responsibilities

  • Drive vehicles to and from customer or vendor lots while observing auction driving rules, rules of the road and demonstrating courteous and defensive driving principles.
  • Drive assigned vehicles through auction lanes on sale day.
  • Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
  • Verify VIN of cars being picked up and or delivered against transportation requests.
  • Line up and park vehicles in the correct order as directed
  • Move vehicles and locate vehicles
  • Inflate tires and jump-start vehicles using a battery box and air tank.
  • Notify manager when vehicles are inoperable.
  • Dispense fuel.
  • Perform walk-around of each vehicle prior to moving vehicle and note damage.
  • Make sure customers receive prompt, efficient and courteous attention by providing excellent customer service and respond to all inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, orderly work environment and friendly disposition by greeting customers and guests promptly and with courtesy.
  • Report any breakdowns or accidents immediately to your manager
