Transport Refrigeration Technician (DIESEL Refrigerated Trailer Mechanic)
About The Position
We are one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the U.S., and we’re looking for an experienced Reefer Technician to join our growing team. The Technician is responsible for the timely repair, maintenance, and diagnostics of Carrier and Thermo King diesel- and electric-powered refrigerated trailer units and auxiliary power units (APUs). This role ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all refrigerated equipment. The Technician must demonstrate a high level of proficiency in troubleshooting, performing preventative maintenance, and servicing refrigeration and A/C systems on Reefer and APU units. 608 or Universal EPA Certification is REQUIRED
Requirements
- 608 Certifications
- Must have valid Drivers License- Class C
- Must provide own hand tools & toolbox.
- Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Reefer units (Thermo King and/or Carrier)
- Experience with PMs and A/C
Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to Reefer vehicles
- Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required
- Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
- Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles
- Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
- Remove or install various parts on vehicles
- Interact with clients through both email or phone as necessary
- Perform other duties as required
