About The Position

Professional Services is looking for a proficient Mortuary- Preparation Transport Specialist to complete removals in a respectful, dignified and compassionate manner. The role involves answering heavy phone traffic, dispatching removal personnel, checking in decedents upon arrival at Rose Hills for all Personal Care Center locations served, maintaining a neat and clean work environment, and performing other duties as assigned. As the face of Rose Hills, the expectation is to interact with families during removals, explaining the next steps in a respectful and compassionate manner.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid California Driver’s License.
• Documentation of HBV vaccination record or agreement to take HBV vaccination.
• Ability to locate and route directions to removal locations.
• Must be professional, compassionate, and respectful with families.
• Ability to complete tasks efficiently in an environment with constant interruptions.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with HMIS program.
• Experience in a similar role within the funeral service industry.

Responsibilities

• Interact with families during removals, explaining the next steps in a respectful and compassionate manner.
• Professionally and courteously answer heavy phone traffic.
• Obtain and print all information needed to complete removals.
• Efficiently dispatch removal personnel on calls.
• Record and check-in all dispatched calls in HMIS, PCC Daily Work Log, Monthly Work Log, and Refer Logs.
• Check-in decedents upon arrival at Rose Hills with compassion, empathy, and integrity.
• Oversee and assign company vehicles and phones during assigned shifts.
• Maintain up-to-date logs and documents.
• Print embalming authorizations and/or minimal preparation forms as applicable.
• Perform mortuary support functions including stocking and ordering supplies, cleaning preparation areas, and moving caskets and flowers.
• Complete all assigned paperwork in a timely manner.
• Assist in dressing decedents and setting up the stateroom/visitation room.
