About The Position

This position is within the Transport/Spec Procedures department and works under the supervision of the Director. The role involves assisting all departments with the delivery of patient care by providing patient transportation to and from diagnostic and treatment units. The individual will assist in lifting and positioning patients and perform surgical preparations under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Patient care activities are performed according to the age-appropriate and developmental needs of the patient. The candidate should be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in their department. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• High school education or GED required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Completion of Nurse Aide Certification course required.
• Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards.
• One year of CNA experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to and from clinical and ancillary departments.
• Provides care for patients during transportation.
• Assists in care and maintenance of equipment.
• Observes patients and reports unusual conditions to Registered Nurse.
• Performs surgical preps and patient care activities according to the age appropriate and developmental needs of the patient.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her unit.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Benefits

• Hourly rate of $27.18 - $31.46 based on experience and qualifications.
