About The Position

Transport Driver is responsible for transporting finished goods and raw materials over land to and from retail and distribution centers. Inspecting vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance. THIS IS A NIGHT TIME SLIP SEAT POSITION THURSDAY THROUGH MONDAY This position will be cross trained to run both propane and petroleum products.

Requirements

  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Class A, CDL license with Hazmat Endorsement
  • TWIC Card required
  • 2-year CDL License preferred
  • Must be able to pass CETP
  • Desire to grow and accelerate with the company
  • Good customer relations
  • Must have a positive, upbeat attitude
  • Must have a valid Class A CDL driver’s license with Haz Mat & Tanker Endorsement
  • Must provide driving record with under 2 points
  • 1 – 2 years driving experience

Responsibilities

  • Deliver goods while operating a tractor-trailer truck, sometimes over intercity routes or spanning several states.
  • Load and unload cargo.
  • Record amount and type of cargo being delivered.
  • Take orders for new deliveries.
  • Drive long distances.
  • Fill up on fuel, clean truck, and wash windows.
  • Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road.
  • Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion.
  • Follow all applicable traffic laws.
  • Inspect their trailer before and after the trip and record any defects they find.
  • Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
  • Keep a log of their activities.
  • Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
  • Keep their truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order.
  • Plan routes using maps or satellite tracking.
  • Get goods to client on time.
  • Take rest periods during trip.
  • Transport hazardous materials.
  • Take special precautions while driving.
  • Maintain log of trips.
  • Loads, secures, transports, delivers, and unloads propane / petroleum to and from specified destinations.
  • Inspects vehicle and notifies supervisor of needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance.
  • Prepares and maintains records in accordance with regulations and company procedures. Operates truck in accordance to established safety procedures.
  • Engages in daily interaction with customers and provides exceptional customer service by supplying service information and answering inquiries.
  • Assists with sales initiatives.
  • Performs responsibilities in on-call rotation for after hours and weekend emergency deliveries or response.
  • Ensures all DOT requirements are always met.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, including but not limited to yard and plant maintenance or dock work.
