General Purpose of Job: The Transport Paramedic has strong critical thinking skills and is able to adapt to any given situation. The Transport Paramedic is skilled in advanced life support. The Transport Paramedic will function as primary or secondary caregiver to ensure that each patient receives treatment that is in accordance with all Transport policies and procedures. The Transport Paramedic is able to give a detailed report to Medical Control to ensure appropriate plan of care is ordered and carried out. The Transport Paramedic will be able to function as part of a team, assuming the lead role, to ensure safety of patients and staff. The Transport Paramedic is accountable to the Transport Medical Director, the Transport Director and the Transport Clinical Coordinator. The Transport Paramedic operates within the framework of the Driscoll Children’s Hospital mission, vision and values.
